The 1877 Maryland Atlas holds lots of mysteries and one has been on my mind a long time, ever since I drove Kraft Neck Road years ago. There isn’t much along that dirt road which links Drawbridge to Elliott Island Road. The atlas shows a “Colored” school along the south side of that road, clearly no longer there and possible gone quite a long time ago. It seems a lonely road which must have been more populated during the time of the 1877 atlas. This is not to be confused with Henry’s Crossroads just to the south of it. If anyone knows the history of the school once on lonely Kraft Neck Road, please contact me.
